Sony Pictures Trying to Acquire Rights to Movie About Jobs’ Life

steve-1.pngDeadline is reporting that Sony Pictures is working to acquire the rights to a film based on the authorized biography of Steve Jobs written by Walter Isaacson. Deadline goes on to note that Sony Pictures was the same studio to create The Social Network, which was based off a book, and dramatized the creation of Facebook.

Of course, the late-90s gave us the made-for-tv movie called Pirates of Silicon Valley which dramatized the early days of Silicon Vally, specifically the early days at Apple, and the days leading up to Jobs’ return at Apple.

We all saw this coming- the capitalization on Steve Jobs’ life and work. And to be honest it’s a captivating story worthy of a movie. That said, it had better be an Oscar-calibre movie- a real art house flick. Jobs deserves it.
