Macerkopf is reporting that Apple is working on two software updates for iOS 5. The first is iOS 5.0.2, and the report claims that it’s well into development, will be further addressing battery issues experienced by some iPhone owners, and will be released soon.
The second update is iOS 5.1, and the report claims that this semi-major update will offer increased functionality to the iPhone 4S’ Siri assistant. This update will reportedly come next year and add additional language support and expansion of maps and local search to new countries. Plus, Apple is also said to be adding support for such functions as taking photos, turning on and off Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
Macerkopf spits out a lot of Apple rumors, so take that into consideration. That said, what they claim in this report doesn’t seem too far fetched. Apple is obviously scrambling to fix these battery issues, and increased Siri functionality seems likely.
