New Renderings of Apple’s Futuristic Campus Emerge

One of the last things that Steve Jobs publicly spoke about were the plans to the company’s futuristic, “spaceship” campus. This new building would take up 175-acres of land, which is larger than the Pentagon and could house some 13,000 employees. This project is projected to be completed by 2015.

As of today however, a few new renderings have cropped up on the City of Cupertino’s website in the form of four separate PDFs: Introduction, Site Plan & Landscaping, Floor Plans, and Renderings. The most intriguing part of these renderings is the change of color in regards to the roof. It is being speculated that this indicates Apple will be covering their campus in photoelectric cells to reduce their carbon footprint.

It’s amazing, ambitious, and undeniably Apple. This is the last great mark Jobs made before leaving us. I can’t wait to see it finished.
