Trine 2

Ever wish you were a warrior, a wizard, or a thief? Ever wish you could just live in a 2D world where the only real goal was to make it from the left side of the screen to the right? If I’ve been describing your dreams verbatim with my last two questions, you’ll want to take a look at Trine 2, the excellent sequel to Trine.

Trine was a truly fantastic platformer with great three-player co-op, and Trine 2 looks to improve upon the formula of physics-heavy platform puzzling. You’ve got a weapon-wielding warrior to block arrows and smash obstacles, a white-hooded thief with a wicked bow and versatile grappling hook, and a wizard who can’t casts fireballs for the life of him (though he can summon planks and other platforms to help you cross deadly liquids, like lava). Combine these three characters, pit them against hordes of enemies, gigantic bosses, and pesky timed switches, and you’ve got yourself a winning platform puzzling combination.

I enjoyed Trine’s co-op immensely and will be snapping the sequel up this Holiday season. If you’re interested, take a peek at the Trine 2 Steam page. $15 nabs you the game on the PC and Mac.
