AppleInsider is reporting that Apple’s soon-to-be-unveiled textbook production tools were code named “Bliss” while in development, and that the project was inspired by Al Gore’s Our Choice e-book.

The report also echoes other information we have heard from other news sources such as The Wall Street Journal. That is, Eddy Cure (head of internet services), and Roger Rosner (iWork division) will be presenting at the event. Rosner was reportedly in charge of development of the publishing tools, and the the software that will be used to read the files.

As for Our Choice, it was selected for Apple’s Design Awards at last year’s WWDC, and was developers by Push Pop Press, a company that consists of former Apple engineers. Push Pop Press was later acquired by FaceBook in 2011.
