Why Doesn’t Flipboard for iPhone Highlight Links?

I’ve been loving Flipboard for iPhone as my go-to RSS reader for the last few weeks, but I’ve discovered what seems to be a pretty major oversight: hyperlinks within articles aren’t highlighted in any way. Links look just like regular text, and although I can still tap on them, it’s really impossible for me to tell which text is interactive without mashing my fingers all over the screen as I read.

Now I’ve checked the Flipboard settings, re-installed the app, and even logged in and out of my Flipboard account, so it doesn’t seem to be an issue with my particular settings. I’ve also checked the Flipboard support forum, but haven’t found any complaints about this.

Flipboard is still a delight to use even with this strange oversight in mind, but it has come as a major surprise to me that highlighted links – which are present in Flipboard for iPad and in most every other RSS reader – are simply absent. I’ll attempt to contact Flipboard support about this issue and will update the post if I hear anything back.
