A void formed after Apple discontinued the white MacBook last summer, even though Apple continued to sell the machine to educational institutes. Now, Apple is selling a stripped-down version of the 13-inch MacBook Air to educational institutions. The machine essentially has the internals of the 11-inch MacBook Air in the 13-inch casing.
