Apple’s corning of “post-pc” devices generates 76% of the company’s revenue according to CEO Tim Cook. To sell these devices directly to customers, Apple now has 362 stores which saw over 110 million visitors in Q4 of 2011.
Apple sold a staggering 315 million iOS devices last year, 62 million of which were sold in Q4 of 2011 alone. Specifically, Apple sold 15.4 million iPads last quarter, which is more computers than any PC manufacturer sold in that same quarter. In fact, HP only sold 15.1 million PCs in that same quarter.
To go along with the number of devices sold, Apple notes there are currently over 585,000 apps in the App Store, with over 200,000 of which are built specifically for the iPad. The 25 billionth was just downloaded last week in China.
As for Apple’s latest initiative, and cornerstone to their plans going forward in the next decade, iCloud, which isn’t even six month old yet, already has 100 million subscribers. Another MobileMe catastrophe this is now.
