Tinhte.vn has posted the Geekbench benchmarks for the new iPad. They found that the A5X chip contains a 1GHz processor and 1GB of RAM. With these changes the new iPad has a score of 756, which is more or less the same as the iPad 2. Remember, the biggest difference between the A5 and A5X chips is the quad-core graphics processing in the A5X, and double the RAM.
In other news, 9to5Mac has posted a photo of some of the signage that will be going up before the launch of the new iPad on Friday. As seen in the photo, the launch will take place on March 16th, at 8:00AM.
Remember, the launch at the Apple Retail stores will be your last chance to get the new iPad on day one. That is, if you get in line early enough. Apple has already sold out their initial batch of online pre-orders. Ship times are now at 2-3 weeks.
