[Update: TUAW reports that AirFloat, an app with similar capabilities to Airfoil Speakers Touch, has also been pulled.]
Oh, dear. It looks like Rogue Amoeba’s Airfoil Speakers Touch 3 has been pulled from the App Store. This means that owners of the Airfoil desktop app (reviewed here) currently cannot download the iOS app for wirelessly streaming audio to their devices (which essentially turned them into little AirPlay speakers).
The kicker here is that the Airfoil Speakers Touch 3 had been out for nearly a month, and as John Gruber points out, this seems to be one of those situations where developers obeyed all of the written App Store rules, but not the “spirit” behind them.
The silver lining here is that the Rogue Amoeba blog states that they’re hoping to restore the app to the store. Here’s hoping those talks go well.
