The TAKTIK is a new Kickstarter project from the people behind the popular TIK-TOK Nano watch step. The idea behind the TAKTIK is to make ultra-rugged protection that feels as premium as the iPhone 4S does – like an Otterbox case made out of Adamantium.
Some of the killer features include:
- abuilt-in ringer switch (inspired by safety switches on firearms)
- a swivelling earphone plug
- insane impact protection
- a lanyard loop (for when you skydive and can’t hold onto things easily)
- optional gorilla glass lens for the iPhone screen
- optional $50 bike mount
Pledging $75 will net you a TAKTIK in black/white by August 2012, but I’d probably pony up $100 to buy a TAKTIK with the upgraded Gorilla Glass lens. The case definitely adds some extra bulk to the iPhone design, but it’s definitely one of the sexiest ways to make your smartphone practically invulnerable.
