The ever-well informed John Gruber of Daring Fireball fame has published a new piece wherein he tries to answer and raises a few questions of his own, regarding the much-rumored 7.85-inch “iPad Mini”.
Overall, Gruber shows us how to visualize a device of the iPad mini’s size, invokes the words of the late Steve Jobs, regarding the need for a device of this size, whether the device will have a Retina display, and what it might cost. He nails down many of the questions I had, while offering the best answer possible with the information we have at this time.
It’s a good speculative piece, one very similar to one I was considering writing. Though, he does it with a greater air of authority. At any rate, it’s a good read, but I’m still not swayed one way or the other regarding the release of such a device. Then again, I try to separate my lack of interest in such a device, from how the market might react.
