Hulu Plus has quietly made its way onto the Apple TV sometime this morning. Some users are having to restart their Apple TVs for the channel to appear. Once the channel appears, users are prompted with a one week free trial, and a login for pre-existing subscribers. New subscribers can be billed through their iTunes accounts.
It seems that Apple’s strategy, at least for now, is unfolding before our eyes. It appears Apple is trying to bypass the cable providers, and establish a new way of consuming TV content. People aren’t sitting down to watch programs when they air anymore. Customers are either recording shows or purchasing subscriptions, both of which can be watched at the customer’s leisure. Hulu Plus, seems to be another step in that direction for the Apple TV.
