pre-Alpha, as far as I understand it, is the stage before alpha testing, which comes before beta testing, which comes before a release. I’ve never seen it defined exactly, but I see the term all the time in gaming articles.

This footage says “pre-Alpha.” What the heck does that mean? It probably means they haven’t even programmed the game yet they’re just guessing (and exaggerating) what it will look like.
