Nowhereelse.fr has been on a roll as of late. Continuing that pattern they have posted photos of what they claim is the dock connector that will be incorporated into the next-generation iPhone. In these photos, the new connector is shown alongside the USB end of the cable, showing the difference in size.
Although the post expresses concern over the credibility of these photos, they do seem to match up with other circulating rumors. For instance, several different reports have claimed that the insertion piece of this new connector will be considerably smaller than the current 30-pin connector. These photos show the connector with 8 pins, as has been rumored elsewhere. Also, the connection piece appears it could be inserted in either orientation- another feature that has been rumored.
I would wager that these photos are of legitimate parts. Perhaps the production models will look differently, but the overall structure of these components will be the same. There is a lot of smoke for their to be no fire in regards to a redesigned dock connector.
