Drafts 2.0 Coming This Thursday

I wrote about Drafts a little while ago, and I still use the app every single day for making notes for sending elsewhere. Most of what starts in Drafts ends up in Evernote for long-term storage or iA Writer for later posting to iSource. I only keep a few notes in Drafts at a time, and they’re only ever temporary little scribbles of restaurant names or songs to check out, but I choose Drafts to store them because it’s simply the fastest app I’ve ever used for text entry.

So it’s with an unnerving squeal of delight that I share news of an impending Drafts 2.0 update this Thursday. The screenshots from Twitter tease things like updated fonts and icons, a new full-screen mode, and a new setting for allowing users to select when a “new” draft should be created. I’ll be writing again about Drafts 2.0 when it hits the App Store later this week, but if you don’t have it already, you’d do well to pick up Drafts today for $1.99. I’m almost certain you’ll find room for it on your first home screen.
