In case you didn’t win the latest contest for the Magellan GPS Car Kit, and still really wanted a way to mount and charge your iPhone and second USB device (sans Bluetooth hands-free speaker), check out the Bracketron.com‘s handy flexible dock, Universal USB Power Dock Pro Flex for iPhone.
From their press release,
The dock consists of a PowerGrip arm that securely holds the mount in your vehicle’s 12V port, and a flexible neck that attaches to a height-adjustable holder for iPhone. [Its] built-in 30-pin charger and 12V USB port allow drivers to securely mount and charge an iPhone, iPod touch or iPod, and charge a second device while on the road. An LED power indicator located at the base of the mount lets you know when your device is plugged in and charging.
Stable mounting features and 360° adjustability offer optimal viewing angles and added safety for hands-free use of your mobile device while using GPS …
From their picture, you may have to carefully weigh whether your car’s 12V is free enough to support a flexible armature without knocking a drink in a cupholder, but given the amount of time many of us spend in our cars, this iPhone mount could make chasing a device after a hard left turn a thing of the past.
