With the iPhone 5’s official launch still two days away, pre-orders for the device are still rolling in as shipping estimates for the device have slipped once more. The new estimates clock in at 3-4 weeks.

Last Friday, Apple’s pre-order allotment of of iPhone 5s sold out in just one hour. Estimates quickly slipped to two weeks. Shortly after the estimates slipped again to 2-3 weeks. Currently, the 3-4 weeks ship estimates apply for US, Canada and Australia. Other markets such as the UK, France and Germany still show a 2-3 week shipping estimate.
At this point, the shipping estimates are exceeding Apple’s second wave launch on September 28th, where the device will become available in 22 more countries. This means Apple is reserving some of the devices for this Friday’s retail launch, and likely some for the launch on September 28th. So, it would seem Apple’s manufacturing capabilities will be stretched for the foreseeable future.
