This little guy arrived on my doorstep last night, and he is already rapidly on his way to becoming my little best friend. It’s Hidden Radio – which started out as a Kickstarter project. I loved the idea of the Hidden Radio the first time and backed the project. Apparently I was far from the only one who loved the idea – the project had a funding target of $125,000 and reached close to a million dollars.
On its Kickstarter page the device is touted like so:
The simplest, most powerful radio and wireless speaker for iPhone + iPad ever in a compact form
It’s also described as possibly the most intuitive product ever and an instant design icon. Here’s a little more detail on what it actually does:
Simple, Intuitive, Loud
The world’s simplest and most intuitive wireless speaker and FM radio ever. Simply lift the cap to turn it on, the further you lift the cap the louder it gets. For its compact size, this product offers one of the best performing speakers available to date; its sound will easily fill the space of the largest apartment.
Truly Portable
Its compact size lets you easily carry it around in any bag or backpack. Less than a pound yet 15hrs of solid sound means you can take it anywhere you want a party. Easily charge it again via micro USB from your computer or USB charger.
Wireless
Never be trapped by wires again with top class wireless Bluetooth; just leave your phone in your pocket while listening to your favorite song.
360° Sound
With the unique speakers drivers and cone design, the sound will spread evenly throughout the room, and you will hear the same great sound no matter where you are.
I’ve only spent half a day with it, but I like Hidden Radio a lot so far. It paired up easily with my iPad and my MacBook Pro, it’s incredibly easy to use if course, and it sounds great in my home office while taking up hardly any space at all. It’s very light and I’ve been already been moving it around to a number of different spots around my office to see where it sounds best.
I’ll do a proper review when I’ve spent more time with it, but for now I’m quite happy with my little friend.
In the meantime, you can get more info or place an order at the Hidden Radio product page. They start at $149.95.
