9to5Mac is reporting that apple will be rolling out a new 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro later this month, alongside the much-rumored “iPad Mini”. As their source, the site mentions early part numbers, which they claim suggest that higher priced configurations are already in Apple’s systems.
Apple introduced the 15-inch Retina MacBook Pro this past June during the company’s World Wide Developers Conference. Even though they introduced the new Retina model, Apple has kept the non-Retina 15-inch model around, in an effort to hit all of the price points possible. It would be safe to assume that if Apple does indeed release a 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro in the near future, they will also continue to sell the non-Retina 13-inch MacBook Pro as well. At least for the time being.
At any rate, Apple is expected to introduce the iPad mini on Tuesday, October 23rd. It seems that we can expect the 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro then as well.
