I received my iPad mini earlier today and unpacked it to find the expected Lightning USB cable and a surprisingly familiar 5W adapter – the exact same adapter that I use to charge my iPhone 4S. I’ve yet to see how long this will take to fully charge an iPad mini’s battery to full, but I really like what this means for my bag.
It’s unfortunate that the faster 12W charger wasn’t included in the box, but it does mean that I can use a single charger at home and on-the-go for both my smartphone and my tablet. Actually, maybe “unfortunate” isn’t what I meant to say. Now that I think about it, I believe I meant “incredibly appealing”.
My new setup is looking very light.
