I then grip the iPad mini with my left hand, using the cover as a handle. The magnets are strong enough to keep the whole setup stable, and I’m finding this grip makes it easier to hold the iPad mini in one hand, instead of stretching my hand out and palming the device.

The only possible downside I can see is that this may keep my cover from lying perfectly flat on top of my iPad mini’s screen, if the Smart Cover is gradually bent over time. I’ve been doing this for at least two weeks now and haven’t seen any signs of permanent damage (and the cover still lies flat), but you’ve been warned.

Another slow day at the office?

  • I am still debating on getting the iPad Mini. It does seem to be the perfect size. But, I already have the iPhone 5 and the iPad 3. The iPad is actually my daughters though. So maybe I should get the Mini for myself? Anyways, this just goes to the quality of the Apple products. I would say you could use it for a long time before you ever notice any where or deformed.
