Ecoute for iPhone – my current music app of choice – now looks up the lyrics for songs, if you haven’t already added them yourself. The app uses Gracenote to find missing lyrics and displays them as a webpage (complete with ads, unfortunately). The solution isn’t ideal, but I’m still really happy that Ecoute is still showing so much interest in displaying lyrics, which is something many other music apps don’t seem to be interested in doing. This 1.1.1 update also added a new tap-and-hold gesture and a new optional tutorial demos various hidden features in the app, which should make things easier on new users.
This is a great little update to an already excellent music app. I’m loving Ecoute on my iPhone and really hope the app makes its way to the iPad in the next few months.
