The current line of thought is that Apple will release the iPhone 5S later this year, a phone that like the 4S will not feature a major external redesign. Newly leaked images of components said to come from the phone, however, suggest Apple has done quite a bit of reshuffling of the handset’s internal construction.

These images, which were obtained by BGR, don’t reveal anything new or exciting like the rumored built-in fingerprint scanner that could be part of the iPhone 5S build. Rather, we see new versions of rather standard components like speaker mounts and the phone’s vibrating motor. Perhaps the most revealing bit of hardware is a new nano SIM tray, which is said to be thinner than the tray found in the iPhone 5.

More tantalizing is the bronze color of one of the SIM trays, lending credence to rumors that the 5S could come in several new color options. We’ll have to wait a while to find out, though. The iPhone 5S is not set to launch until sometime this fall alongside iOS 7.
