A wired iPad keyboard might seem like a step back in time — Bluetooth connections have been all the rage — but there are some situations where it makes sense. For those situations, Logitech has introduced a new keyboard with both 30-pin and Lightning options.
The company envisions the new Logitech Wired Keyboard for iPad finding a home in the classroom, where teachers are sometimes tasked with pairing multiple iPads with multiple Bluetooth keyboards. The solution? Plug-and-play connectivity that foregoes a wireless connection.
The full-sized, low profile keyboard is designed to stand up to the daily abuse you might expect from antsy students, and it features iPad shortcut keys for copy/past, Siri, and more. The Lightning version will arrive in August for a suggested price of $59.99. A 30-pin model will be available later in the year.
