When they introduced the retina display at 326 ppi they went on and on about how someone with 20/20 vision couldn’t distinguish the difference of anything higher than 326. Why risk battery life, expensive repairs, and whatever else for marketing? They will get buried in the press. IDK, higher numbers are nice, but there would have to be another benefit for an increase like that I would wager.

yeah…if the screen remains 4 inches, then we really won’t notice the extra pixels and resolution as much. but it will be fine for the marketing materials/smartphone wars.

I think it is really high for a 1080p potential device, but the screen size does help.
