Intel Haswell-powered MacBooks headed for WWDC unveiling?


It’s no secret that we will not be seeing a refreshed iPhone or iPad at WWDC, but update MacBook models? That’s a different story. Based on dwindling stock of current gen MacBook models and the appearance of new SKUs related to the Air and Pro lineups, it seems likely we will see one or both laptop computers updated next week.

The MacBook Air and MacBook Pro with Retina display could be the first Apple portables to feature the new Intel Haswell CPU, the chipmakers latest piece of silicon  The Haswell processor has been a hot commodity lately, debuting in new notebooks left and right. It was always only a matter of time before Apple deployed the chip in their Mac lineup.

With Haswell-powered MacBooks making up the bulk of Apple’s WWDC hardware announcements, it is expected Apple will showcase the latest tweaks to OS X and preview iOS 7 for mobile devices. The show could also host the debut if Apple’s long-awaited iRadio streaming music service. It all kicks off next week on June 10th.
