Mac OS X adopts new naming scheme

OS X Mavericks

With the impending announcement of the newest version Mac OS X, one of the more intriguing unknowns has been–what will Apple call the newest version?  After selecting big cats for the last 9 iterations, there is definitely a limited number of possibilities left.

So Apple decided to shake things up and start a new naming scheme altogether–problem solved!  Today, Apple introduces OS X Mavericks.  Their plan from here on out is to start naming the future versions of OS X after things that inspire them right in their own backyard in California.
