iOS 7 is already making the rounds with developers, but it will be a few months before the everyday iPhone owner gets a look at the massive update to Apple’s mobile platform. Along with an entirely new look, iOS users will get first-time features like AirDrop, a revamped camera, improved multi-tasking, and Control Center. We’re looking forward to it all, but what feature tops your list?
AirDrop promises to make file sharing easier than ever between iPhone users. Accessible from iOS 7’s sharing dialog, AirDrop allows for wireless sharing with other nearby iPhone and iPad devices. It looks to be a great way to share photos, videos, documents and more.
iOS 7’s overhauled camera is bringing more control than ever to make photography with the iPhone better than ever. Photo modes are accessible with a swipe, and a new square mode makes it easy to capture shots perfect for sharing to Instagram. So do the camera’s new built-in filters. To go along with iOS 7’s improved camera, Apple has also redesigned the gallery to sort photos by date and place.
Apple’s improvements to multitasking in iOS bring applications previews, while Control Center allows users to swipe up a dialog providing easy access to common functions. Notifications have been given a new look. They’re bigger and easier to interact with.
The OS update also features new versions of popular stop apps like Safari, Mail, and Calendar. Music also gets a refresh, and introduces iTunes Radio for streaming music.
