Apple has released Mac OS X Mavericks Developer Preview 2. The second iteration of the upcoming update to Apple’s desktop operating system is pegged with build number 13A497d and can now be downloaded from the Mac Dev Center.
The initial OS X Mavericks Developer Preview was seeded after Apple announced the new software version at WWDC earlier this month. Enhancements over Mountain Lion include tabbed Finder browsing, file tagging, enhanced multi-display support, and improvements to apps like Safari and Calendar. Mavericks also introduces iBooks and Maps to the desktop for the first time.
Developer Preview 2 contains mostly minor UI and performance tweaks. If you have a Mac developer account you can go ahead and download the updated software now through Apple’s site or via the Mac App Store software update.
