Apple has released the latest version to their Logic Pro professional audio recording platform. Logic Pro X is a complete overhaul of the pro-grade software and includes tools for creating virtual drum tracks as well as manipulating pitch on the fly.

Logic Pro X’s Drummer “provides a virtual session player,” laying down a drum track to your recorded tunes. It should allow musicians and composers to focus more on their creating new music rather than toiling over programmed backing tracks. Flex Pitch should also go a long way in helping artists craft musical gems, providing a quick and easy way to fix errant notes and tune up vocals. A new iPad app, Logic Remote, adds another ayer of control, taking the mix from your work station to pretty much anywhere you want to be.

Logic Pro X is available today from the Mac App Store, priced at $199.99. Logic Remote is a free download from the iOS App Store.
