Verizon is reporting another strong quarter, racking up some $5.2 billion in profit from $29.8 billion in revenue. The carrier added 941,000 subscribers for the heading into June while activating 7.5 million smartphones. Of those, over 50 percent were iPhone activations.

Verizon added 3.9 million iPhones to their network for the second quarter of 2013. It’s hard to recall the days when AT&T held an exclusive on Apple’s flagship device, but it’s clear that going multi-carrier was the right (the only) choice.
