
A big bin of boxes labeled “iPhone 5C” might finally give us the name of Apple’s long-rumored low-cost iPhone model. You know, the one we have seen leaked to no end over the past several weeks in the run up to the handset’s rumored launch. The packaging, which itself appears to be made of plastic (just like the phone it will supposedly hold), showed up on Chinese blog WeiPhone over the weekend.
No, the ‘C’ probably doesn’t stand for “cheap.” More likely, it refers to the fact that the pone will be available in a variety of colors. If it’s anything like the ‘S’ branding that should accompany another updated iPhone 5 to launch beside it, Apple probably won’t give assign a specific meaning to the name.
But let me go back to the fact that the packaging appears to be made of plastic. Kind of wasteful, amirite? Think of the environment!
