When Netflix is used on a shared device, the experience isn’t always as intended. Just because you like to watch countless hours of Scrubs reruns doesn’t mean I want that reflecting my personal tastes or recommendations. Let’s just say user profiles are long overdue, but they have arrived for Netflix for Apple TV.
Profiles allows you to associate separate social accounts with each user and can also be used to establish parental controls, making for a family-friendly experience, as well. It keeps viewing habits separate, making for better recommendations and fewer embarrassing entries in your Recently Watched list.
User profiles are currently rolling out on a limited basis. They are expected to reach all Apple TV users by the end of August. Let us know if you are seeing the new feature.
