Audi is looking to take the headache out of deciphering dashboard warning lights and mysteriously labeled switches through the deployment of a new iPhone app that could replace car manual’s of yore. Using augmented reality, Audi A3 owners can simply point their smartphone toward whatever is perplexing them to receive immediate help and feedback.
No more digging through the glovebox and hoping the manual has an easy-to-find answer for your questions. Over 300 elements of the A3 are covered by the new app, which is only Audi’s latest foray into augmented reality. Previously the European carmaker has offered a smartphone-enhanced calendar, virtual showroom, and interactive brochure. Other manufacturers could stand to look toward Audio for inspiration in this area.
