Redesigned iPad and iPad mini with Retina Display will launch in the final months of the year, but we likely won't see them unveiled alongside an updated iPhone. The 1-2 punch of new mobile devices could drive Apple's holiday sales through the roof.

New iPads won’t be at September iPhone event, but they’re still coming this year

A report from Bloomberg is adding to rumors of new iPad models to be unveiled later this year. Following news that Apple will host a September 10th event to launch new iPhone models, word is that a revamped iPad and iPad mini will not be on hand. They will, however, still launch in time for the holidays.

Leaked images and various reports claim that the fifth-generation iPad will feature a design more akin to the iPad mini: less bezel with a thinner construction. The mini will likely see an upgrade that includes a Retina Display.
