September 10th marks the date that we expect to witness the unveiling of not one, but two new iPhone devices, and keeping with Apple tradition they should be available for purchase not long after. Now rumors point to September 20th as the date for the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C to land in initial launch markets.
News comes out of Japan, where it is being reported that the phone will launch on that date for SoftBank and KDDI. While there is no mention of a US release, Japan was among the first markets to receive the iPhone 5. We might expect the same for the next generation handsets. At the very least, it won’t launch later in the US than in Japan.
Apple will take a new approach this year, launching two iPhone models to reportedly cover the bases in terms of pricing. The iPhone 5C will utilize plastic construction and could phase out the iPhone 5. The iPhone 5S is an upgrade to the 5 and could feature a fingerprint scanner that would play in unlocking the device.
