Apple continues to build out its content partners on their television platform, adding several new apps via update today. The big take here is Vevo, which was expected to arrive on Apple TV after the music video provider inked a deal with Apple last week.
Joining the music video platform is long-time Apple partner Disney, which debuts Disney Channel and Disney XD apps as part of the update. Apple TV users also get apps for The Weather Channel and Smithsonian Channel.
The new sources come as Apple continues to push content streams on Apple TV, which has seen an uptick in “channels” this summer, including the debut of HBO Go. Speculation points to Apple investing even more in the platform with the potential debut of actual television hardware and/or a subscription content service.
