TLD has posted a new video taking a pretty in-depth look at the new gold iPhone 5S casing. Aside from the “champagne” color, most of the differences between the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5S casing are structural in nature and only seen on the inside. The main difference noticeable on the outside is the cutout for the camera flash at the top–a new shape that suggests a dual flash is indeed to be a new feature of the iPhone 5S.
A second video released by BestTechInfo which shows off a new “graphite” iPhone 5S casing. When held up to a black and slate iPhone 5 the metal portion of the back casing does look significantly lighter.
In summary, the new iPhone 5S will have the same form factor, but come with a slew of new internal features–much the same way the iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4S have done in years past. This go around, it is expected that the new model will offer an improved processor (of course), fingerprint sensor, dual-LED flash, and a better camera.
Perhaps Apple will outrightly ditch the white and black iPhone 5 colors for the iPhone 5 entirely and only offer a “graphite” and “champagne” models. This would be the first time that the iPhone line moved away from white and black models (original aluminum iPhone notwithstanding). This wouldn’t be unthinkable considering Apple shifts up and replaces iPod colors from time to time.
