Besides… even if we assume that it is possible to “partially obliterate” something (which totally contradicts the meaning of obliterate) the iPhone 5c isn’t going to do that. I read your comment. That doesn’t make you right.
You’re right about the 5 being discontinued. I missed that. However the 5c does not represent a major leap forward for Apple devices. If Android’s market share continued to gain on Apple while the iPhone 5 was Apple’s flagship phone, the 5c can’t be expected to do anything different.
If anything is going to change the market its going to be the iPhone 5s. That 64bit A7 is a game changer. At this point, Android can’t support 64bit so it’s not just a matter of Samsung or Motorola rolling out a device with a new chip. The device manufacturers will have to wait of Google to get the OS up to the same standards as iOS 7. That’s going to be a challenge.

I guess I missed that. When I checked earlier I say the 5 for $0.00 on Verizon’s site… now it’s back to $99.

What does “partially obliterate” mean? Is that light “mostly dead”?

So…does the “Moto X” have 18 colors/colours?

“iPhone 5C” does have more “LTE” bands than the “iPhone 5”.

“iPhone 5S” is to be the “most powerful smartphone” as of now.

The “iPhone 5” will be expected to DISCONTINUE, and it will be replaced by the “iPhone 5C”.

Except it’s not the 5 that will be continued as the free device. They’re discontinuing it. The new free device will be the 4S with 8 GB.

Wrong. When the iPhone 5 and the iPhone 5c are essentially the same phone people are going to opt for the one that is free not the one that has more color choices. If people want color, just buy a case.

-Processing Power? We’re talking the 5c here not the 5s. Don’t confuse the two. The 5c doesn’t have the A7 processor that comes with the 5s. The 5c is stuck with a regular old 32bit A6 dual core.If it’s just a matter of throwing color at it, Motorola has got the 5c beat. The Moto X is available in a lot more colors than the 5c.

-Price? That might be the biggest selling point for the 5c. $99 dollars ain’t bad and I hear Walmart has it for $10 less than that. However… if it’s price that counts, just buy the iPhone 5. It’s free now and the specs pretty much match the iPhone 5c bullet-for-bullet.

-Color. The Moto X has the iPhone 5c beat on color availability.

– “Apple Inc.” Marketing. That’s exactly what the iPhone 5c is… it’s marketing. the 5c is little different from it’s predecessor. It’s basically the same phone only it weighs more and has two hours more battery life. I think most iPhone users are going to either opt for the original iPhone 5 because it’s now free on contract or move to the iPhone 5s because that’s the phone that is actually an upgrade over the previous iteration.

Will the iPhone 5c “obliterate” Android? Hardly. Me? I’m waiting for Apple to offer a bigger screen. I loved my iPhone 3g… but having moved to Android on the Galaxy Note 2 I’ve grown accustomed to the bigger display size. In terms of performance I think a lot of people will be tempted to move to the 5s with it’s 64bit A7.

OK, so it is a iPhone 5 with color is what you are saying. And if the iPhone 5 didn’t “Obliterate” Android, then how could the 5C? Your argument, if you can call it that, may have been better off if you said the 5S.

And another thing, how can some thing “partially obliterate” anything. I thought by definition of the word is it pretty total.

– Processing power to that of iPhone 5
– Price
– Marketing appeal about color
– And the usual “Apple Incorporated” marketing.

No, I meant for you to honestly tell me how that will happen. Especially to use such a strong word as “Obliterate”

Discuss how you feel this will happen.
