The update to iOS 7 hasn’t been smooth for everyone — and we’re talking in more ways than one. Some have seen download time in excess of 18 hours, while others are simply appalled by what Apple has done to their beloved smartphones. Such is the way things go when you are dealing with distributing a massive overhaul to product entrenched in nearly every facet of our lives.
As an iPhone owner that has been using iOS 7 for the past few months, I can relate. At first, iOS 7 seemed a bit impenetrable. There seemed to be too much going on, and the new look didn’t always make it easy to find familiar functions. In reality, iOS 7 only gives off the impression that it is totally different. More than anything else, the update is a fresh coat of paint on a very familiar operating system.
For some, that’s the major complaint. For others, they are simply done with Apple because they are blatantly ripping off the mobile operating systems crafted by other companies — seriously, that was an actual post on my Facebook feed.
I say everyone should give it a few days. After a week you will never want to go back to iOS 6. It will look dated, it will seem so out of vogue. And features like Control Center will become an integral part of how you use your iPhone.
