If you are a frequent traveler, AppleCare+ just became a much better deal. Apple has quietly updated the terms of their extended warranty program to now allow users of iPhones, iPads, and iPods to receive service outside of their home country. Previously, if you broke your device while traveling you would have to wait until returning home to get a repair or replacement.
This means if you are traveling to any region of the world where AppleCare+ is offered, you can handle warranty issues on site, depending on what is covered in each particular country. Countries with some form of AppleCare include the US, UK, Canada, China, Germany, France, Italy, China, Japan, and more.
Apple recently switched up the pricing of AppleCare service, bumping it to $79 from $39. That’s just about twice as expensive, so it’s nice to see some added incentives to go along with it.
