Amazon’s Instant Video and Lovefilm offerings for iOS to enhance AirPlay support after the feature was added in September. The latest update won’t bring many on-the-surface improvements or changes, but AirPlay using the apps now supports multitasking in iOS 6 and later.
This means after queuing up a TV show or movie for AirPlay, you can continue using your iPhone or iPad to surf the web, check mail and messages, or whatever else. You could also choose to live distraction free and simply watch the movie you are streaming, but that would be so antiquated.
You can grab the latest updates to Instant Video (US users) and Lovefilm (UK) free from the App Store/iTunes now.
