
Along with the release of OS X Mavericks as a free download for all Mac users, Apple announced a new lineup of MacBook Pro laptops at today’s special event. New 13-inch and 15-inch models were on hand, bringing a number of updates to the previous generation of Retina display models.
The 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro includes a 2.4GHz i5 processor based on Intel’s Haswell platform. It gets 4GB RAM and improved WiFi 802.11 ac. The base model, which comes in a slimmed-down package, starts at $1299.
The 15-inch Retina MacBook Pro features a 2.0GHz quad-core i7 chipper based on Intel’s Crystalwell platform. It also features the same memory and WiFi enhancements as the 13-inch model as well as improved integrated graphics. The base model starts at $1999.
Both models will ship with OS X Mavericks and are available today.
