Yesterday Apple announced the biggest overhaul to their 9.7-inch iPad to date. The changes to its design were so numerous that the company ever saw fit to give it a new name. The iPad Air certainly has the looks, which mirror the smaller iPad mini, but are you impressed?
Aside from the major aesthetic changes, which see the tablet shrink both in overall size and weight, Apple has upgraded their larger iPad model with a 64-bit A7 processor. The CPU theoretically offers twice the performance of the A6X chip offered in the previous generation iPad, and has proven to be a game changer in the iPhone 5S. Other features include the introduction of MIMO WiFi alongside standards like a 5MP iSight camera.
The whole package will go on sale at $499 for a base 16GB model, standard pricing for previous iPad generations, and hit shelves November 1st. Do all the tweaks and refinements justify an upgrade? Will you buy buying the iPad Air?
