Amazon Cloud Player released for Mac

Though Apple and Google have followed since, the first big brand to go live with a cloud music storage platform was actually Amazon. Though their Cloud Player doesn’t carry quite the same punch as Google Play Music and iTunes Match, it remains a respectable option to this day…and it’s getting better.

Since its launch for Android and web in 2011, Amazon has slowly rolled out support for iOS, a standalone player on the PC, and now — over two years later — for Mac. Amazon Cloud Player is not without its benefits. With the app, users can sync their local MP3 library to the cloud, browse and purchase new music from Amazon’s store, and access any previously purchased or AutoRip music files instantly.

Did we mention it’s free? OK, so free storage only extends to purchased music along with a rather small selection of uploaded tracks (250 songs). 250,000 stored tracks will set you back $24.99/year. You can download Cloud Player for Mac now direct from Amazon.
