Last week Apple released firmware update 7.0.3 following the iPad event to address the poorly calibrated iPhone 5S motion sensor. The resulting calibration issues led to accelerometer, gyroscope, and compass data that was considerably out of acceptable range. As with every iOS update, jailbreakers were initially cautioned against rushing to download the firmware update.
Famed evad3rs hacker MuscleNerd issued a stay away alert via Twitter noting it was still too early to know if this iOS update could potentially impact future jailbreaks. However, just a few short hours later he followed up with the all-clear, stating that the newest update won’t impact future jailbreaks for iOS 7.x unless Apple was holding back. For those interested, Apple breaks down the specifics of the update here.
This is good news for those who already lost their iOS 6.x update, as they should still be ok when the evad3rs team (@pimskeks @planetbeing @pod2g @MuscleNerd), or whoever else, is able to give us our next jailbreak. I know I can’t wait, and by the looks of our latest jailbreak poll, you can’t either. The best we can do right now is wait–and be patient. At least @planetbeing seems optimistic.
