If you have ever been in a noisy environment trying to make a call, you or the person on the receiving end may know the experience of straining to hear what the other is saying. While the optimal solution involves simply relocating to a quitter area, iOS 7 does provide a way to help reduce background noise and improve overall call quality.
As with many options, this one is buried in the Accessibility menu. Here’s where to find it and how to enable Phone Noise Cancellation.

- Open the Settings app located on your phone’s homescreen
- Navigate to General
- Open the Accessibility menu
- Scroll down to Hearing
- Toggle Phone Noise Cancellation to on
That’s all you will need to do to take advantage of advanced noise cancellation in iOS 7 and help improve the quality of your calls for both you and the recipient. Again, it’s not a total solution for loud environments, but if you have no other option it should help.
