It’s been known for a while now that the famed evad3rs jailbreak dream team has been working on cracking iOS 7 wide open, @planetbeing said as much last month shortly after iOS 7 was released to the public.
In addition, @MuscleNerd tweeted just last week about whether or not those considering future jailbreaks on their iOS devices should update to 7.0.3. That being said, you’ll never guess what they’re considering throwing their collective weight behind next–wait for it…
What in the world am I talking about?!
Maybe it’s just me? But isn’t this a bad sign? I mean, sure, everyone is entitled to make a buck, and these guys are some of the hardest working hackers/programmers in the world the past few years, and they need to eat, too. But….
It all feels so–weird, wrong, commercial–pick an adjective. Am I way off base here? I know as users that’s what we do best–we use. We benefit from their hard work, and we get to use their awesome jailbreaks at absolutely no cost to us. Has the evad3rs team gotten so big, that maybe this is just something their marketing team has dreamed up? Do they have a marketing team? I guess when I think about it, I might consider buying one–especially if_all_ of the proceeds support the great work they do. What say you?
