Apple TV gains PBS and Yahoo

While a full-fledged “iTV” might still be a way off, Apple continues to round out Apple TV’s stable of available content portals. Today users were introduced to new channels for PBS and Yahoo.

Shows from the catalog of PBS now up for streaming to Apple TV users include American Masters, Nature, Frontline and Masterpiece as well as a share of web-original content. Yahoo brings a library of web clips ranging from NBC’s SNL to video segments from The Onion and other partners.

These recent additions come as part of a larger push by Apple to beef up its content offerings on their home entertainment device. In recent months we have seen the likes of HBO Go, Disney, and ESPN added into the fold. Apple TV users can access the new PBS and Yahoo content streams starting today.
